Improvement Methods
School Improvement Plan
Our school has and continues to update a school improvement plan. The plans consist of 7 parts: Vision, Values, Collaborative Culture, Mission, Goals, Action Plans, and Results. Together, all 7 parts help our school develop a comprehensive improvement plan.

Plan Do Study Act
The Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) cycle is a process that Pekin School District 108 uses to improve the quality of teaching and learning. The PDSA integrates both theory and practice to systematically create a more effective, data driven approach to show and sustain continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance Portfolio
The American Society for Quality (ASQ) Koality Kid Alliance developed an instrument that schools can use to measure their improvement. The criteria is outlined in the seven sections at left. The instrument is designed to provide our school with:
  • a method for measuring improvement
  • a model for systemic continuous improvement efforts
  • a process for benchmarking

Quality Assurance is a process by which schools in Illinois present evidence to assure that their processes and results meet state standards. They are recognized with a DOES NOT MEET, MEETS, OR EXCEEDS distinction. The rating is based on criteria recognized by the state. It is the goal of district and schools to have all schools with a MEETS or EXCEEDS designation.

It is further the goal of the district to have each school's processes and results presented in an electronic portfolio for all stakeholders to view. To view our electronic progress portfolio, choose any of the seven categories from the schoolhouse menu at left. This portfolio will be continuously improved and updated as new evidence is obtained.
