Welcome to a WebQuest that will explore the many ways in which YOU are smart! Did you know that each of us has a special kind of intelligence? That’s right… YOU have incredible BRAIN POWER that you can use each and every day!

By the end of this WebQuest, you will be able
to answer a very important question:

“How do my special kinds of “smart” help me
to achieve more in school AND in life?”

2.   Explore what YOUR special kinds of intelligence are.

3.   Investigate future career possibilities for your unique type of intelligence.

What IS Multiple Intelligence?

 

·       Start with Section 1 in your brochure to research the basics about the Multiple Intelligence theory.

(Record your answers in Section 1 of the brochure.)

What are MY special kinds of intelligence?

·       Visit the resource table and pick up a copy of the “Multiple Intelligence Survey.”

·       Follow the directions on the survey to complete each of the 8 sections.

·       Then total the score under each of the 8 areas.

·       Next, in your brochure, complete Section #2 to record your scores.

How do my special kinds of intelligence help me?

·       Now it’s time to research and learn about YOUR special kinds of “smart!” 

·       Obtain a two-sided lotus diagram from the resource table.

·       You will visit a website that describes each of the 8 Multiple Intelligences.

·       Read about your TOP 2 kinds of intelligence.

·        While researching, make notes on the lotus (one type of intelligence per side) about what you have read. *You will use these notes later to make a presentation about your multiple intelligences.

·       You’ve done some great research so far ~ nice work!

·       Now it’s time to decide WHAT all this information tells you.

·       Locate Section #3 in your brochure.

·       Read each question and think, think, THINK about how your multiple intelligence strengths help you in life.

·       Write down your thoughts in the brochure.

What will I do when I grow up?

Now it’s time to THINK BIG!  Someday, you will have
a chance to choose your very own career path.

Let’s take time to preview some of the careers
that you might want to explore when you grow up.

 

·       Locate Section #4 in your brochure.

·       In this area, you will create a mind map, listing at least 5 different careers that interest you.

·       Branch a mind map bubble off of each career and write down your thoughts, comments, or questions about each of the jobs you have listed.

Final Project___________________________

 

Now it’s time to celebrate the GENIUS in you!

 

 

Hopefully, you’ve learned a lot about your unique kinds of intelligence, and how they can help you to succeed in life. You will now create a project in order to share your findings with classmates and your family members at home.

 

Your final project should include the following criteria:

  1. A brief description of Garder’s Multiple Intelligence Theory
  2. A description of YOUR top 2 intelligences
  3. Examples of how these forms of intelligence help you in school AND in life
  4. Possible career choices you might be interested in for your future.

 

You may choose from any of the 3 presentation forms listed below… but remember – every project must include the 4 criteria listed directly above in order to receive full point value on the project.

 

*Before beginning your project work, visit the resource table to receive a copy of the project rubric.

*Hints & suggestions:  Be creative… feel free to incorporate music or drama into the classroom presentation of your final project. Now that you KNOW your intellectual strengths, utilize them in creating an outstanding final project!

Project Poster

Using MS Publisher, create a professional looking brochure to demonstrate the many things you have learned throughout this unit.

 

Requirements:  3-panel, double-sided brochure

 

Hints: include clip art, a meaningful quote, visual interest through color and design

 

Create a slideshow to summarize your key findings.

 

Requirements:  minimum of 5 slides

 

Hints:  include slide transitions, clip art, inspirational quotes

Design a poster to share the important things you have learned about MI and yourself during this unit.

 

Requirements:  18 x 26 sized poster

 

Hints:  use color to add visual interest; perhaps draw a mind map; include cut-out clip art or magazine art for visual interest
