| Pekin
Public School District 108 is commited to the ideal that
a technologically integrated working environment wil exsist
for all students and staff. The environment must include:
- appropriate
technological tools and skills used in an active and
enriching, restructured environment to enhance learning,
teaching, and their management.
- easily
accessible and continuous support, training and time
for the using the tools of technology to enhance teaching
and learning.
- efficient
infrastructure to connect the home, the classroom, the
school, and agencies of the community to resources available
across the world.
- continuous
monitoring, evaluation, and updating of district and
buildings' technology plans.

Each
fall the Tech Center distributes a brochure that includes
what's new for fall, introduces tech staff, and details
how to get tech support in the classroom. We also create
a newsletter three times a year to keep District 108 staff
up to date on what is happening in the Tech Center.

| Some
of our instructional management tools include:
- Novell's
Application Launcher for launching network software.
- AS/400
w/ CIMS software for maintaining both student and financial
records.
- Learning
Village for promoting on-line collaboration and
producing classroom websites
- Gateway
Library Manangement for library automation management.
- AbacusXP
system that manages student test scores.

activities related to technology are available for both
staff, students, and parents. After school technology clubs
are offered at all grade levels.

training opportunities are available for all staff, parents,
students, and community.

| Community
Classes for parents and community are offered three times
a year. By building public access points for technology at
the Pekin Public Library and Miller Senior Center, we've
been able to expand out number of community classes to reach
additional audiences. |
