Pekin Public Schools District 108 was awarded a Learning Community 2000 grant for $3.5 million over 5-year period from the U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of the learning community is to foster citizenship, communication, collaboration, consensus, and connectivity between all community members. To ensure community input and involvement, Pekin 108 has organized a sixteen- member partner board representing the stakeholders of the wider community and/or task force chairpersons. District 108 is currently in the third year of the grant.
