Classroom Web Pages

Getting Ready to Build Your Own Site

A good way to get ready to prepare your own classroom web site is to go out on the Web and look at lots of sites. Bookmark what you hate and love, so you can refer to them later.  Hopefully you'll notice a pattern.

Cool Sites

One of the best and oldest "best" sites, the Original Cool Site of  the Day: Iso-topically Cool Sites at

http://cool.infi.net/topic.html

has a good range - from plain Jane sites with a cause to killer sites with much flash and magic. If you want to see the potential of the Web, these are the sites to visit. Project Cool Sightings at

http://www.projectcool.com/sightings/

has sites that specifically have good design.

Web Pages That Suck

Web Pages That Suck at

http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com/home2.html

is a good place to start to make you a better designer.
Another spot to find the bad and the ugly is at
Anthony's Most Annoying of the Web at

http://www.annoyances.com/annoying.html

It is a good example of what can happen if you don't plan or just plan badly.

Test It Out!

View these sites to examine quality of design. Which do you feel are
well-designed? Which ones still need work?

             Rolling Hills Country Day School

             Powell High

             Akers School

             Alamo Elementary

             Lakeview
