Project Details
-------------------
Project Level: Basic

Curriculum Area: Community Interest, History and Social Studies, Language

Technologies Used: Email, Web Based Discussion Forum

Full Project Description: The Global Social Studies Hyper Textbook is starting the fall of 1998, but it will be an on-going project that teachers and students can use through the years. Even though the categories are flexible, here are the assignments:
Kindergarten - themselves, first grade - families, second grade - neighborhoods, third grade - cities, fourth grade - state, and fifth grade - country. Each class will do a unit on their curriculum area and then create a web site as an end product. These web pages can behosted on your school's web site or on:

http://CyberSchools.NET/members/links.htm

Participation can be by a school or by class. As the pages of the Hyper  Textbook increase,
schools and classes will be able to compare and contrast their findings with
other
schools.

Objectives:
To explore the different areas of our communities and share
that information with others around the world. This project
is designed to meet the already existing curriculum of a lot
of schools. It is designed to build a simple database of
information which can be used for years to come.
