Extended
Day - Title I students have the opportunity to work twice weekly with
teachers on homework. In this 45 minute after-school program, additional
practice is also given in specific areas of student need.
First
Choice - This program is designed to teach selected sixth graders
about self-management, appropriate decision making, nutrition and fitness.
During this ten-week session, students meet Monday through Wednesday for
1.75 hours each day in a small group setting.
After
School Adventures - This program is designed to involve students
in exciting, constructive activities to improve academic, social, and physical
skills. Students may sign up for mini-courses ranging from Junior Chef's
School, Flag Football, and Net Sports to Camp Out and About.
KODA
KIDS - Sixth grade students receive leadership and conflict resolution
training. They serve as ambassadors on the playground and around the school.
Odyssey
of the Mind - Students working in teams develop creativity and
problem solving skills in this fun and competitive activity. Washington
teams have advanced to internationl competition several times in the last
few years.
