School
Web Site Rubric
Developed by District 108 to help indentify for our schools
the characteristics and aspects that we are looking for in our school
web sites. We ask 4 to 5 volunteers to assess the school sites using
the rubrics and then provide the information to the school webmaster.
In total, there are three sections of the rubric:
Section #1
Content
Content is definitely King. The more often you update, the more
often they visit.
Section #2
Usability
How usable is your website? Is it easy to navigate? Can users easily
find the information on the school website? The easier is it is
for users to find information and navigate the site, the longer
they stay.
Section #3
Design
Judging design is always tough to do. If you're looking for great
resource that will help take the "subjectiveness" out
of design, check out Robin Williams book, The
Non-Designer's Web Book.
