| BLENKIRON PARK - A “Tot Lot” playground, located at South Sixth and Park Avenue, features playground equipment (geared for up to 10 year olds) along with a field area and a shelter. COAL MINERS’ PARK - Located east of Parkway Drive adjacent to Parkview Golf Course, this 45 acre, picturesque park boasts a wooded area left in its natural state, football/soccer fields, shelter, restrooms and nature trails (maps are available in the Recreation Office). INDEPENDENCE PARK - Located in Marquette Heights. 300 + acres held in it’s natural state. KIWANIS PARK NORTH - This seven acre park, located east of L. E. Starke School and west of Parkway Drive, has two ball diamonds, playground equipment, teepee shelter and soccer fields. KIWANIS

SOUTHSIDE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION PARK MINERAL SPRINGS PARK AND LAGOON - This beautiful, central area park features over 200 acres of playgrounds, (Visit our Kiddie Korral Playground in Mineral Spring Park) five outdoor tennis courts, six baseball and softball diamonds, basketball courts, picnic areas with grills, two covered picnic shelters (by reservation in the Recreation Office), concession stands, batting cages, DragonLand Water Park, Magic Dragon Golf and Games, Memorial Arena (ice rink) and recreation center), Parkside Athletics, Pavilion, Miller Senior Citizens’ Center, peaceful Lagoon for paddle boat riding and fishing, Sunken Gardens with fountain and sundial, bocce ball courts and wheelchair swing. The Lagoon is well known for it’s serene walking conditions. One lap around the Lagoon is approximately one-half mile. It’s walks are handicapped accessible. The Lagoon is stocked with fish annually. Please be aware! Because of the 12 foot depth of the water, horseplay around the water is prohibited. Skating is allowed on the Lagoon in the winter. Signs will be posted around the Lagoon when ice is safe. |

RAILSPLITTERS PARK - This new park is located on lower Derby Street near the Salvation Army. The open space property was generously donated by David and Janet Kasley. The park is named in honor of their brother William Anthony Kasley who served in the Signal Corps of the United States Army during World War ll with the 84th Infantry Division, known as the Railsplitters. Development of a parking lot and playground are being funded by a grant received from the State of Illinois. Completion of Railsplitters’ Park is anticipated for the summer/fall of 2007. RIVERFRONT PARK - Opened in the Fall of 2005, along the Illinois River at the foot of Court Street. This 4 acre park features; an aesthetic view and includes a festival plaza, event meadow, picnic grills and a interactive play feature and large gazebo, interpretive signage, vehicular overlook parking area, Spirt of Columbia Steamboat play apporatus, picnic shelter and horseshoe courts, fishing pier and trail near the River. ROTARY PARK - This neighborhood park is located on the former Garfield School property (11th and State Streets) with playground equipment, basketball courts and open field areas. Thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club, a shelter and restroom have been added to this popular park. SOUTHSIDE BUSINESS ASSOCIATION PARK - On behalf of the cooperative efforts of the Southside Business Association, the City of Pekin and Pekin Public School District 108, this park is bordered by Sapp, Knapp and Herget Streets. The Park’s design includes a baseball/soccer/football field, open play area with basketball court, and playground area, and a new picnic shelter. TANTE PARK - Tante’s forty acres are located six miles east of Pekin on Broadway Road and has picnic areas, playing fields, nature areas, teepee shelters and two comfort stations. WILLOW PARK - North Fifth and Willow Streets is the location for this park with basketball court, roller blade court, playground equipment and picnic area.
