I feel very blessed to be the new principal at Willow Primary and to help you get to know me; I wanted to share a few things about my professional background. I graduated from Illinois State University in Elementary Education. I completed my student teaching in District 150 at Glen Oak Primary in a 3rd and 4th grade combined room. I’m a December graduate due to taking a semester off to attend basic training with the Air Force (Served in the 182nd Air National Guard out of Bartonville, IL) in San Antonio, Texas. I was a substitute teacher for Midwest Central School District #191 for a semester before teaching at New Central Elementary in Havana for 13 years. During my time at Havana, I taught third grade, second grade and coached. I attended the University of Illinois in Springfield and completed my master’s degree in Educational Administration. Since acquiring my degree, I have been with District 108 at Wilson Intermediate for the last seven years. (Four years as the assistant principal and three years as the principal.) I am very blessed to be at Willow Primary and cannot wait to get our year underway. What an exceptional place to be!
On a personal note, I have been blessed to be the step-mom of three wonderful children. The older two are deep into their careers with Caterpillar, married and have families. Our youngest is a junior at ISU. My husband and I are proud grandparents and enjoy every moment we get with them!
