Welcome to St. Joseph School
St. Joseph Students working hard

The halls of St. Joseph School came to life on Wednesday, August 26th when we welcomed 198 students to school for the beginning of our 2009 – 2010 school year. Thank you to all for choosing a Catholic education for your child(ren).  Catholic education, at its best, illuminates and enriches a student’s experience of God, life and culture. We at St. Joseph’s strive for this every day, as we educate our students intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically.

Catholic Schools Week (Feb. 1-5)

Catholic Schools Week is a week-long devotion to and appreciation of our Catholic schools and the quality education they bestow. Thank you to all who supported our school by participating in these exciting events! Click the picture for a "full-size" image of St. Joseph's Staff and Students.

Students Donate Generously to Haiti and St. Jude

School Health Notice October 20, 2009

True to their calling to Christ, our students recently gave very generously to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti as well as St. Jude. The total amount given was well over $850, which was so much more than we had anticipated. Special thanks to the St. Joseph Student Council for sponsoring both events!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am writing to make you aware that over the past couple of days our school has observed an increase in illness-related absences.  During the period of time, we have also recorded an increased number of reports of flu-like symptoms.  The health and well being of our students is our top priority, and we are doing everything possible to keep our school as germ free as possible.  Therefore, we are asking for parents to volunteer to come in and wipe down all classrooms and highly touched areas nightly.  If you are available to help, please contact Ramie Nauman @ 346-2110 for a designated day.  We are also asking for our families to continue providing assistance by taking preventive measures to combat the spread of germs.   Please urge your children to wash their hands often, keep their hands away from their eyes, nose and mouth, and cover coughs and sneezes with their sleeve or a tissue.  The Center for Disease Control reports that the most effective way to reduce the spread of any virus is to practice good hygiene. If a student comes to school with flu symptoms, he or she will be evaluated by Debbie or myself and separated from others until the student can be sent home.  Students with flu, or flu-symptoms should stay home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever without the use of fever-reducing medicines. If your child demonstrates flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headaches, chills and fatigue please keep him/her at home until the symptoms are gone.

The Education Commission members would like to take a few minutes and follow up with everyone after our Parish/School Community Meeting.  First of all, we would like to say thank you to everyone who has submitted an idea and/or suggestion or who has stepped up to volunteer for a committee.  We truly appreciate your input and volunteerism and still encourage
others to submit their ideas and/or join a committee.  Secondly, the committees are beginning to meet to begin concentrating on a particular area to enhance St. Joseph School.  We would like to invite everyone to view the idea lists, committee members and times of meetings on our school’s website.  We will continue to update the website as we continue our mission of raising money for St. Joseph School.
