Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus
We enjoyed
"Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus," our annual walk-a-thon last week.
The rainbow of colors on the T-shirts worn by all was truely an awesome
sight! Thanks to all the students for participating in all the
stations.
Thanks to the Parent's Club for providing
snacks, water and help throughout the morning.
We were
pleased to come very close to 90% of our goal and so we will have a
pizza party to celebrate this accomplishment. The pizza party
will be on Halloween in
place of the regular hot lunch. Students surely enjoy
this wonderful meal!
October is
Respect Life month and so we pray that we will be always mindful of the
life and dignity of the human person and respect all life from
conception to natural death. In this first week of October we remember
St. Francis of Assisi. Through his example, St. Francis reminds us that
we are called to bring about justice and peace in our world, end to
violence and war, poverty and oppression and to protect our fragile
planet. Also during this first week of October students and staff
participated in the Living Rosary to pray for Peace.
The next
student function will be October 16, World Food Day in which we will
again be free to wear our colors (T-shirts). "Walking with Jesus"
in a small way to feed the hungry with our sacrifices that day!
We are
planning a special something each month so that students wear their
"colors" and continue to "Walk with Jesus" throughout the school year!
