2nd Grade
Class Saint- St. Vincent de Paul

Mrs. Schuler started teaching here at St. Joseph's 14 years ago. She has been teaching for 20 years altogether. She has always known that she has wanted to be a teacher. Mrs. Schuler attended St. Cecilia's Grade School in Peoria as a child. Her fondest memories are her wonderful teachers, the nuns, and friends.
This year she has 24 students in her class. She is planing on taking the class on field trips to Lakeview Museum, the Planetarium, Glen Oak Park, and Glen Oak Zoo. The class will be be making rosaries for R.C.I.A. members of St. Joseph Church. In the second semester they will be making penguins, after reading a book about them. The class will also be creating a PowerPoint presentation about penguins. When reading about Flat Stanley they will create a Flat Stanley to send on a journey. They will soon be celebrating the Seder Meal during Easter season to help prepare for their First Holy Communion.  In the Month of December the class began participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Mrs.  Schuler is looking forward to the time when students receive their First Holy Communion.

The second grade celebrated the Seder Meal in preparation of First Communion.

The second grade made gingerbread houses with the help of volunteers.
