Mrs. Schuler
2nd Grade
Class Saint- St. Vincent de Paul
Mrs. Schuler started teaching here
at St. Joseph's 14 years ago. She has been teaching for 20 years
altogether. She has always known
that she has wanted to be a teacher. Mrs. Schuler attended St.
Cecilia's
Grade School in Peoria as a child. Her fondest
memories are her wonderful teachers, the nuns, and friends. This year she has
24 students in
her class. She is planing on taking the class on field trips to
Lakeview Museum, the Planetarium, Glen Oak Park, and Glen Oak Zoo. The
class will be be
making rosaries for R.C.I.A. members of St. Joseph Church. In the
second semester they will be making penguins, after reading a book
about them. The class will also be creating a PowerPoint presentation
about penguins. When reading about Flat Stanley they will create
a Flat Stanley to send on a journey. They will soon be
celebrating the Seder Meal during
Easter season to help prepare for their
First Holy Communion. In the Month of December the class began
participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Mrs. Schuler is
looking forward to the time when students receive their First Holy
Communion.
The second grade celebrated the Seder Meal in preparation of First
Communion.
The second grade made gingerbread houses with the help of volunteers.
