Mr. Josh Norman, Principal

Josh Norman

Thank you for visiting Wilson’s website! My name is Josh Norman, and this will be my 9th year as principal at Wilson Intermediate School. I was born and raised in Pekin graduating from Pekin High School in 1995. I graduated in 1999 from North Central College with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, with an emphasis in secondary education. My other degrees include a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Technology from the University of Illinois and my Administration degree from Bradley University.

I have been in the district for 25 years. I started my career as a social studies teacher at Edison Junior High. For eight years I taught social studies and coached basketball and track. After my teaching career at Edison, I have spent four years as the assistant principal at Washington Intermediate School. In 2010, I was promoted to principal at Scott Altman Primary School, in which I served as principal for four years. This year will be my 8th year as the principal of Wilson.

I am married and have two daughters and one son. My family comes from a long line of educators with my mother, brother, uncle and cousin either working or retired from District 108. I want to share with each of you how fortunate and proud I feel to be the principal of Wilson. I love working with Wilson School’s learning community to create a welcoming, safe, and engaging learning environment where all our students can reach their maximum potential. I look forward to meeting and building collaborative relationships with all the Wilson families!

Mrs. Kyra Fancher, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Fancher

Hello! My name is Kyra Fancher. I am honored to be at Wilson this year as your Assistant Principal. I received my teaching degree from Illinois State University in 1995 and my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 2013. Prior to Wilson, I spent 22 years with middle school students, 12 of those as a math teacher and 10 years as an administrator. I'm super excited to be working with the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders at Wilson this year.

I am a native of Mason City, where I continue to live with my husband and our 2 cats and 2 dogs. Our 4 children are grown and making us proud with their successes, 2 of which have also chosen a career path in education. I love sharing stories about all of my kids, human and animal. All you have to do is ask!

I look forward to meeting all of our Wilson students and their families.
